150 year Anniversary
2025 will mark 150 years since the Queensland Woollen Manufacturing Company first formed. The Parallel Threads exhibition in Rhode is the beginning of honouring this rich heritage of Ipswich’s woollen textile industry and pay homage to the workers who made it happen.
We are hoping to find ways to celebrate this locally in Ipswich. Remembering these events underscores the importance of conserving the remaining woollen mill sites and maintaining their community connections, as they are adapted to new uses.
