Wool and sheep festivals are a vibrant – and important part of the wool crafting scene in Australia. the largest of these is the Annual Wool and Sheep Festival, in Bendigo, Victoria.
I attended in 2019 – to see what it was all about. There were pavilions of woollen materials and products for sale, as well as competition.
The following gallery gives a feel for the show. It is certainly huge, but doesn’t have the sense of community that Queensland festivals like Knitfest in Maleny (held annually at the end of June/start of July), or the Jumpers and Jazz festival in Warwick, (held annually the last two weeks of July).
